Lagoon

OUR BIG GIRL!
Little TREATS and STICKERS didn't work for Raegan to be MOTIVATED to be potty trained. So we promised her if she became a big girl we would take her to LAGOON! Well we finally went on Thursday. Jared took the morning off work and my mom watched Kade. It was a FUN! Raegan had a BLAST!

This is Raegans Favorite Ride. I think she feels all grown up when shes on it. I told jared I think she she thinks shes really steering the car. It made me laugh!

Potty Training

Well we did it! Potty training! Back in April I started to potty train Raegan in hopes that she would catch on quick, which she did, but then we both got very sick and I was tired of cleaning up yucky Diarea mess and decided to hold off for a while. I just hoped that I had done enough for Raegan to be thinking about it for the next time we tried again.... well One of my friends asked me to post some of the ideas that I did back in April....

The first thing I did was have Raegan teach her doll how to go potty... this helped me know that she knew the process of going to the bathroom. We would take her doll to the bathroom and Raegan would pretend that her doll would go. We only did this for one day. The next day I let Raegan pick out a toilet. she thought that was fun. She picked out a Winnie the pooh one.

The first day of real training.

decorate the bathroom in party stuff to make if fun and an exciting place.

I made a princess note pad for her to color on while we were spending lots of time in the bathroom.
Germs... I don't need to say any more...(and Raegan loves to wash her hands!)

We made shakers out of toilet paper rolls. I covered the ends with tape and then filled them with rice. I wrapped paper around the roll and then used scrapbook embellishments and letters that spelled out the word POO... ribbon was used for the top. After each time she went potty in the toilet we would have a "POO-RADE" and march around the house...

but what really happened was I danced around looking like a nerd and Raegan just looked at me like I was stupid. She is so funny.

I had a cute smiley face timer that I would set for 15 min. Every time it went off she had to sit on the toilet. when she would go I would let her have a sippy of juice. I wanted her to drink a lot so that she had to go to the bathroom a lot. The more they feel like they need to go the faster they will learn how to go. Especially since I was intently thinking about it.

Anyways.... the story goes.... so we stopped training because she just wasn't as into as I thought she would be and she got very sick.

Well... about 3 weeks ago i decided that I was so sick of changing 2 kids diapers. I told Raegan that she couldn't where Diapers anymore because if she wanted to be a princess than she needed to wear panties. Well.. it worked All I had to say was if you are a big girl princess and you go potty, then we can go to Lagoon..... So the other day we Finely took her to Lagoon! What a big girl.

The funny thing is I just had to let her do it the way she wanted. Sometimes I feel like she thinks she is to cool for all of my cute ideas.... but who am I kidding. She's 2 :)

She still has small accidence every once in a while but she is doing awesome! Its way better than changing diapers 100 times a day!

July and August

Here are JULY and AUGUST pictures! I have been so bad at keeping up with posting these.

The kids are growing ups so fast! Raegan is a BIG girl now and knows how to go potty all by her self! ( i will post more about that later!) Kade enjoys climbing and getting into EVERYTHING! They are little stinkers together! I love watching them play and learn! This Picture cracks me up, I love how kade is looking up at Raegan. I can just hear him thinking..."Raegan you are so crazy."

Kade watches every move she makes. Its really cute!

This is how my kids always look at me. They are THINKING... "mom you are so weird!"

JULY! This picture is cute too! I love how it shows that Kade knows how to climb up the stars. This is just totally how they are.... Raegan wanting all of the attention. And kade just chillin next too her. I love my kids so much!

more Olympic Ideas

Yesterday I had the Activity day girls over for an Olympic celebration! So we did a mini triathlon! First we did a cotton ball race. All you need are cotton balls... and straws. I taped lanes on my floor in different colors to make the coarse. They had to blow the cotton ball to the finish line. I put them into to three teams of two and made it a relay. It turned out really fun. Here is a picture of Raegan doing it! She got really good at moving the cotton ball with her straw.

Then we had a water sport. I gave them each a spoon. There was a small pool filled with water. Each team had to take a turn with their partner with running to the pool, scooping up water into their spoon, and then bringing it back to the cup. There was a line on each cup that the girls had to fill the WATER up to. This took a lot longer than I thought. I should have put the line closer to the bottom of the cup. But the girls had fun.

Next I had the girls put together an obstacle coarse. I had a bucket filled with cones, balls, bubbles, jump ropes, Frisbees, and other things. It was fun to see what the girls came up with for the race. We timed each girl to see how fast they could do it!

After the triathlon we made Large and fluffy tissue paper flowers! in honor of the Chinese hosting the Olympics. (the Chinese love flowers) I printed out the Beijing symbol for the 08 Olympics for them to tie onto the flower to remember the Olympics this year. The girls had so much fun making these. and they were super easy!

Last but not least I made my famous smores on a stick for the treat. But I made them with Orange waffle cookies and red sprinkles to make them look like fire for the Olympic torch. the girls thought it was great!

Where Is KADE?

Ok. So my brain must be somewhere else these days, because today I lost Kade.
well, Raegan and kade were playing in the hall. I knew they were ok because I had closed all of the doors to the bedrooms and bathroom because kades favorite thing these days is to play in the toilet. Raegan had come into the Kitchen and told me she was going to play on the front porch. She loves to pretend that its her Castle. Anyways... a few minutes went by and I had realized that I hadn't heard Kade for a while. So I ran down the hall and he wasn't there. I went into panic mode. I knew He couldn't be in the rooms since he can't open the doors but I flung open all the doors anyways to see if Raegan had locked him in there. I was yelling his name over and over. KADE! KADE! WHERE ARE YOU? I ran to the front door and yelled to Raegan where is Kade? She said. I don't know? Where could he be? I stood there for a second and thought... UP STAIRS? no... how would he be up stairs. But it was my last option. I ran up the stars as fast as I could and guess what... Kade was sitting there in front of the Tv. just smiling away. who knew that he would climb all the way up the stairs all by him self. Who even knew that he could even climb up the stairs in the first place. It scarred the living crap out of me thinking that he could have taken another fall! what a silly little boy! All of a sudden he is so grown up! What am i going to do with him? He is fearless. Even after falling down the stairs the day before. I love that sweet little thing! What a stinker.

Bad mommy.

Today Kade fell down our stairs. It was the saddest thing I have ever seen. He TUMBLED rolled BUMPED and BOUNCED... yep that is about how it went. I felt so bad! HE has been trying to keep up with Raegan and follows her everywhere. I just need to keep a better eye on him I guess. Has anyone else had something similar happen?

cute ideas and yummy treats!

So My favorite thing lately is to look at blogs that have cute ideas and tips on them. Check out www.tipjunkie.blogspot.com ! its my favorite! I really love that people share their craftyness with the world! So I decided to post a few things that i did this weekend. They were so easy and turned out really cute!

The first one is a Picture holder. I made them out of the biggest Binder Clips. I just measured paper to wrap around them. and then decorated the front. and of course added a cute ribbon. In this picture I had the clip hold some recipes of my favorite cakes for a friends birthday. (one of my cute activity day girls gave me this idea!)

The other thing I did was make smorse on a stick!
All i did was melt chocolate chips in the microwave and frost it on the marshmallows! The i rolled them in gram cracker crumbs! Let them dry for a few hours so the chocolate hardens!
I wrapped them in cellophane(i put everything in cellophane, it makes it look so cute)and then i made a card for my friends that were going to girls camp this week! It was a happy camping trip treat! so cute! such a fun idea for gifts or even just a snack! my little girl loved them. Now we put everything on skewers. who doesn't like to eat things of a stick?

What? Moving?

Well i just want everyone to know why our house is up for sale! About a year and a half ago jared and I took the plunge and bought a house in Bountiful. It was our first real "flip" or real estate investment. We have been into real estate investments since we have been married. We mostly have had rental properties... nothing like this. so We gutted the inside of this house remodeled everything and added about 1000 feet to the back of the house! It was the ultimate investment! We were so excited and couldn't wait to get it done and back on the market! Well... come to find out the Real Estate market wasn't going to be on our side, along with many many other bumps in the road.(contractors bailing on us, bad pluming, 2 house payments a month, unexpected costs, ext.) Anyways the property deal went bad on us and to make a very long story short... we dumped the property for super super cheap, so we didn't have to Carry the costs of the house payment and bills anymore. This resulted in lots of debt that should have been covered after we sold the property for the ideal asking price! So the smartest thing we could think of to pay it off as quickly as possible is.... sell our house and move in with jared's parents for a year! Wahoo... yep! we are so grateful for jared's parents! so that is the story! So we are selling our house and moving on! I just want to publicly thank everyone that has helped us through this hard time. We appreciate all of the love and support! we are going to miss our beautiful home and neighborhood! I made jared promise me that we could move back into this area! I sure hope so!
Things I'm going to miss...

Memory Tag

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.
